Why local-first
Most invoicing apps are a website with a phone app attached. Your customer list, your prices, your takings and your customers’ contact details all sit on somebody else’s server, and you rent access to them by the month. Stop paying and the door closes on your own records.
We took the other road. Invoice Vault keeps everything in a database on your phone. There is no account to create, no password to lose and no server holding your books — which also means there is no breach of ours that can expose your customers. The only copy that leaves the device is a backup you choose to send to your own iCloud or Google Drive.
The promise we can actually keep
If your subscription lapses, nothing is locked and nothing is deleted. Every invoice, quote and ledger entry stays on your phone — searchable, readable, exportable as a PDF or CSV for your accountant. Only issuing new documents pauses, and it resumes the moment you renew. A cloud app cannot make that promise, because it is holding your books rather than you.
Who it’s for
Small business owners of every kind — freelancers and consultants, photographers and videographers, personal trainers and therapists, tutors, cleaners, gardeners, mobile mechanics, market stallholders, electricians and plumbers. Anyone who quotes their own work, bills it themselves, and would rather not run a bookkeeping department to do it.
It is deliberately not for everyone. If you need a shared team database, a client login portal or a live accounting-software integration, those all require a server holding your data, and we don’t run one. We’d rather tell you that here than after you’ve moved a year of books across.
How we’re funded
By subscriptions, and nothing else. We don’t sell data, run ads or take a cut of your payments — when a customer pays an invoice by card it goes through your own Stripe, PayPal Business or Square account, and we never see a card number. One price, monthly or yearly, every feature included.
